The idea of needing a life coach becomes a crutch. We tell ourselves, “If I could just get a life coach to tell me what to do, things will be fine.” Translation: “If I could just hear someone tells me it’s okay to pursue my life goals, things will be fine.” Let’s stop looking outside ourselves for permission. We need to trust our power, abilities, gifts, and talents to create our paths. Let’s face those emotional blocks. For me, it took a therapist, not a life coach, to help me do that.
Without those blocks, you can accept that your pursuit isn’t supposed to be conventional. It’ll be easier to accept that pursuing unchartered territory comes without ordered steps a, b, c, d, e. This series isn’t about hissing at life coaches. I’m also not telling you to avoid seeking advice and wisdom from people who are in your industry. For example, if you have a dream to print your drawings on t-shirts, then you DO need to talk to someone about how to print your drawings on t-shirts and where to get your t-shirts from! This series is about giving yourself permission to start drawing. You don’t need a life coach to tell you that.
Once you are honest with yourself about those emotional blocks and you give yourself permission, you will begin to move in the direction of your goals. Your path probably won’t be a, b, c, d, e. It’ll probably look more like steps f, r, a, b, c, z. But as you move, the steps fall into place.
We all can’t wait to see the things you create.
P.S. Did you read Round 1 and Round 2?
